CAPE TOWN, Feb. 12 (Xinhua) -- The following are news highlights in South African major media outlets on Tuesday.

-- Electricity utility Eskom announced on Monday that due to continued pressure on the national grid, the power utility will implement Stage 4 load shedding.

"Since this morning, we have unexpectedly lost six additional generating units which have put additional strain on the system," said Eskom in a statement.(Mercury News)

-- The FW De Klerk Foundation on Monday celebrated the 29th anniversary of Nelson Mandela's release from prison.

It was on this day in 1990, Mandela was released from prison after serving 27 years behind bars.(Eyewitness News)
