TOKYO, Feb. 14 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks opened higher Thursday following a positive lead from Wall Street overnight, with the yen's retreat against the U.S. dollar boosting exporter issues and adding to a positive market mood.

As markets opened here, the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average added 65.10 points, or 0.31 percent, from Wednesday to 21,209.58.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, gained 4.57 points, or 0.29 percent, at 1,593.90.

Oil and coal product, pulp and paper, and construction-oriented issues comprised those that gained the most in the opening minutes after the morning bell. Enditem
