Jordan signs 96-mln-USD loan deal with Arab Monetary Fund to support fiscal reforms

AMMAN, Feb. 14 (Xinhua) -- Jordan signed on Thursday a loan agreement worth 96 million U.S. dollars with the Arab Monetary Fund to support fiscal and monetary reforms in the country.

Jordanian Ministry of Finance said in a statement that the loan will enable Jordan to continue its reforms and support the its efforts to enhance financial inclusion.

This agreement raised the overall volume of loans Jordan received from the fund to 778 million dollars, the statement added.

The fund also decided to provide Jordan with a credit line concerning the external trade of the country.

Jordan also benefited from technical assistance and training opportunities from the fund as well as several technical aid programs that seek to improve the skills of the human resources in the financial field, the ministry said. Enditem
