LUSAKA, Feb. 16 (Xinhua) -- Six more bodies have been retrieved from a lake in Zambia's Luapula Province following a boat accident three days ago, which has brought the death toll to 12, local police said on Friday.

Provincial Police Commissioner Elias Chushi said commando marines searched the lake and found five bodies on Friday morning while the sixth was found on Thursday evening, according to the state-run news agency, Zambia News and Information Services.

A total of 21 people survived after the overloaded boat capsized on Lake Mweru. More than 20 people are feared dead.

The police chief said the search was still under way and the wreckage of the boat had also been recovered. Enditem
