JERUSALEM, Feb. 16 (Xinhua) -- Israeli company Coinmama, one of the world's largest crypto brokerage, announced Saturday that it has suffered a breach of about 450,000 emails and hashed passwords.

Coinmama website allows its users to purchase by credit card and some popular cryptocurrencies, such as Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH).

The hacked details include users' email addresses and passwords that were registered in Coinmama website before August 5th, 2017.

It is estimated that the details are included in a multi-platform hack, as 747 million accounts' information of 24 companies worldwide was stolen, and recently offered for sale in the Darknet, the hidden and isolated part of the network.

Coinmama stated that the information of its users has probably not yet been used. Meanwhile, the company has reset the passwords of all its users and asked them to create new strong ones.

It also asked the users to change their private email password - in case they used the same password in their account on the website.

"We are working closely with leading cybersecurity firms to understand the scope of the incident and enhancing our systems to detect and prevent unauthorized access to user information," the company said.

Coinmama was founded in 2013 and headquartered in the city of Raanana in central Israel. It has about 1.3 million users in more than 150 countries. Enditem
