ANKARA, Feb. 19 (Xinhua) -- Turkey plans to invest an equivalent of 23 million U.S. dollars in 2019 for the land section of the TurkStream natural gas pipeline, government's 2019 investment plan said on Monday.
The official statement said that the government will spend a total of 217.91 million Turkish liras (about 41 million dollars), on the first line of TurkStream project, which will transport natural gas from Russia under the Black Sea.
The TurkStream project will consist of two lines with a total capacity of 31.5 billion cubic meters.
The first line is expected to be fully operational by the end of this year, and then provide gas to the Turkish market from Russia.
The second line, which is intended to supply gas to southern Europe, will route from Turkey through Bulgaria, and then Serbia, Hungary and Slovakia. Enditem
