TOKYO, Feb. 20 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks rose Wednesday morning as Wall Street's lead overnight helped by Walmart's robust sales figures lifted the market mood here.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average gained 149.60 points, or 0.70 percent, from Tuesday to 21,452.25.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, added 7.44 points, or 0.46 percent, at 1,613.96.
Nonferrous metal, wholesale trade, and marine transportation-linked issues comprised those that gained the most by the morning break. Enditem
