SINGAPORE, Feb. 20 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed higher on Wednesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) going up 0.57 percent, or 18.58 points, to close at 3,278.38.
A total of 1.35 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 1.12 billion Singapore dollars (about 828.64 million U.S. dollars). Gainers outnumbered losers by 249 to 167.
The STI index went down 0.19 percent, or 6.17 points, to close at 3,259.8 on Tuesday. Enditem
