CAPE TOWN, Feb. 24 (Xinhua) -- The following are news highlights in South Africa's major media outlets on Sunday.

-- A rally is being planned to honor former correctional services commissioner Vernie Petersen, following revelations at the Commission of Inquiry into State Capture that he tried to clean up corruption at the department.

The Justice4Vernie group, started by Petersen's friends and family members, announced the rally on Saturday, saying it would be held to recognize Petersen's anti-corruption stance. (News24)

-- The African National Congress (ANC) on Saturday confirmed that its acting spokesperson Zizi Kodwa has been accused of rape.

The governing party said the complainant sent a grievance letter to deputy secretary general Jessie Duarte. (Eyewitness News)

-- David Makhura, premier of Gauteng Province, reiterated on Saturday that the e-toll system is not part of the province's future.
