German shares edge down Wednesday

FRANKFURT, March 6 (Xinhua) -- German stocks edged down on Wednesday, with the benchmark DAX index down 33.11 points, or 0.28 percent, to close at 11,587.63 points.

Renal dialysis equipment supplier Fresenius Medical lost 2.04 percent, the top loser among the blue chips, followed by semiconductor manufacturer Infineon Technologies and German airlines Lufthansa, which lost 1.81 percent and 1.50 percent respectively.

Deutsche Bank gained 1.35 percent, becoming the top gainer. Reinsurance company Munich Re and sportswear and equipment maker Adidas advanced 0.43 percent and 0.42 percent respectively.

German insurance and financial services company Allianz was the most traded share with a turnover of 195.8 million euros (221.2 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
