KIEV, March 6 (Xinhua) -- Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman and visiting U.S. Under-Secretary of State for Political Affairs David Hale met on Wednesday to discuss bilateral cooperation and the situation in and around Ukraine.
During the negotiations, the parties discussed Ukraine's reforms, energy issues and the ways to tighten bilateral trade partnership, Groysman tweeted.
Increasing sanctions against Russia over its alleged role in Ukraine's crisis was another topic on the agenda, Groysman said.
Hale arrived in Kiev on Tuesday for a three-day visit to meet with senior Ukrainian officials and political leaders and discuss upcoming elections, anti-corruption, and human rights issues with government representatives and civil society leaders.
Earlier in the day, Hale met Ukrainian Defense Minister Stepan Poltorak, pledging that the United States will continue political support and logistical assistance for Ukraine. Enditem
