German shares edge down Thursday

FRANKFURT, March 7 (Xinhua) -- German stocks edged down on Thursday, with the benchmark DAX index down 69.83 points, or 0.60 percent, to close at 11,517.80 points.

Deutsche Bank lost 5.13 percent, the top loser among the blue chips, followed by material manufacturer Covestro and industrial giant Thyssenkrupp, which lost 4.43 percent and 3.41 percent respectively.

Housing association Vonovia gained 3.91 percent, becoming the top gainer. Personal-care company Beiersdorf and energy group RWE advanced 1.91 percent and 1.31 percent respectively.

German insurance and financial services company Allianz was the most traded share with a turnover of 271.5 million euros (305.9 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
