RABAT, March 7 (Xinhua) -- The Moroccan police said on Thursday that they bust a criminal network suspected of falsifying official documents to enable Israelis to obtain the Moroccan nationality and ID.

A total of 10 suspects were arrested on Tuesday and Wednesday, including a Moroccan Jew, three police civil servants, a law enforcement officer and a civil servant, said a police statement.

Initial investigations show the criminal network, run by the Moroccan Jew, falsified the birth certificates for Israeli citizens and then obtained birth certificates with identities of Moroccan Jews.

The suspects were remanded in custody during the investigation aimed at arresting all people who participated in or contributed to the criminal network, the police said. Enditem
