ADDIS ABABA, March 9 (Xinhua) -- The following are news highlights in Ethiopia's major media outlets on Saturday.

-- The International Women's Day was marked on Friday for the 43rd time in Ethiopia on the premises of the African Union (AU) headquarters, in the capital Addis Ababa, in the presence of Ethiopia's Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and the Executive Director of UNAIDS, Michel Sidibe, among others. -- Ethiopia and Greece have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to strengthen trade ties between the countries along with information exchange and marketing. (Ethiopian News Agency/ENA)

-- About 838 Ethiopians who had fled to Sudan because of the recent conflict in west Gondar zone, in Amhara regional state of Ethiopia, have returned home.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the repatriation process was carried out in partnership with the International Organization for Migration (IOM), and about 500 Ethiopians sheltered in Shagarab refugee camp will also return home soon after a discussion is held with pertinent bodies. -- Ambachew Mekonnen, Infrastructure and Urban Development Advisor Minister to the Prime Minister, has been appointed as Chief Administrator of Amhara regional state, replacing Gedu Andargachew.

His appointment came following the resignation of Gedu Andargachew, who has served as chief administrator of the regional state during the past five years. (FBC) Enditem
