-- Zambian President Edgar Lungu has assured that the country has enough maize grain despite prolonged dry spells that have adversely affected maize production in the southern part of the country.
Lungu said the government is ready for the negative effect of the weather which has resulted in crops wilting, adding that the decision to allow for exports of maize was done after consultations. (Zambia Daily Mail)
-- The African Tobacco Control Alliance says it has enough evidence that the tobacco industry in Zambia was deliberately and systematically targeting children in order to encourage smoking and the use of other tobacco products.
