LUSAKA, March 13 (Xinhua) -- The following are news highlights in Zambia's major media outlets on Wednesday.

-- Zambia's fourth mobile phone operator has rescheduled its planned opening in Zambia from the first half of this year to the last part of the year.

Minister of Transport and Communications Brian Mushimba said Uzi Zambia, which was granted a license last year, has started the processing of set up but has not yet fully completed some of the processes. (Zambia Daily Mail)

-- The United Nations (UN) has called on authorities in Zambia to ensure speedy resolution of cases involving juveniles in detention because the facilities are not appropriate for them.

UN Resident Coordinator Janet Rogan said the delay in addressing juvenile cases had resulted in them being mixed with adult remandees for a long time and deprived them access to learning an vocational skills. (Times of Zambia)

-- The Zambian government has launched investigations of alleged smuggling of gold by some mining firms in the northwestern part of the country.

Ministry of Mines and Minerals Development Permanent Secretary Paul Chanda said a team from the ministry would be deployed to the area to investigate the matter, adding that the government would not sit idle and allow people to continue stealing the country's wealth. (Daily Nation) Enditem
