ZAGREB, March 15 (Xinhua) -- Croatia is preparing two legislative proposals that will allow British citizens to have all rights in Croatia after Brexit as in the past, and this is also expected from Britain when it comes to Croatian citizens, local media reported on Friday.

A session of the Croatian government adopted a conclusion saying that the information on Croatia's preparations for the no-deal Brexit was received.

A total of 659 British citizens are staying and working in Croatia. They are enjoying all the rights given to European Union citizens. The amendment of the two laws will allow the British citizens to enjoy the same rights after Brexit.

Croatia also expects that Britain will allow around 5,000 Croatian citizens to continue staying and working in the departing EU member.

Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic said that Croatia is preparing for all scenarios of Brexit. The government vowed all efforts to minimize the consequences for Croatian citizens if no-deal Brexit happens, according to local media reports.

Croatian citizens living in Britain have been informed by the government of all most important issues regarding their stay and information, local media said. Enditem
