GENEVA -- The UN Independent Commission of Inquiry on the protests in the Palestinian Gaza Strip on Monday urged Israel to immediately ensure that its security forces' rules of engagement are revised to comply with international legal standards.
The commission presented its findings Monday to the UN Human Rights Council (HRC), "after investigating all killings and many injuries occurring by the separation fence between Israel and Gaza during the demonstrations last year". (UN-Israel-Report)

WASHINGTON -- U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said on Monday that the United States will "re-engage" with Kim Jong Un, top leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), over issues of mutual concern.

ADEN, Yemen -- Unknown gunmen opened fire and shot dead a pro-government army officer along with his bodyguard in Yemeni southwestern province of Taiz on Monday, a security official told Xinhua.
The security source said on condition of anonymity that "an officer of the pro-government national forces was killed along with his bodyguard in an ambush by unknown gunmen in the central area of Taiz province." (Yemen-Government-Gunshot)
