MACAO -- Macao's composite consumer price index (CPI) in February 2019 increased by 2.79 percent year-on-year to 115.31, down by 0.25 percentage points from the 3.04 percent growth in January, the special administrative region's statistic service said here on Thursday.

The latest report from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) showed that the increment in February was attributable to dearer charges for eating out and higher rentals for dwellings as well as rising prices of motor cars, adults' clothing and fruits.

BANGKOK -- Thai police on Thursday announced they have seized drugs with an estimated value of 800 million baht (25 million U.S. dollars) in the recent three drug busts.

A total of 8 million methamphetamine pills, 2,070 grams of crystal meth and 1,546 grams of cocaine were seized in the haul. Four suspects were arrested and another suspect was killed during the bust, police told at a press conference in Bangkok. (Thailand-Drug busts)

MANILA -- The Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) signed Thursday the Cofinancing Framework Agreement for Sovereign Operations that will guide overall cofinancing arrangements between the two institutions going forward.

ADB President Takehiko Nakao and AIIB President Jin Liqun met on Thursday in ADB's headquarter in Manila and discussed a range of strategic and operational issues, the ADB said in a statement. (Philippines-ADB-AIIB)

KABUL -- At least six people were killed and 23 others wounded after three blasts hit New Year celebrations near a shrine in the western side of Kabul on Thursday, officials said.

"About 23 people were wounded and six people were martyred in today's explosions in Kabul," Wahidullah Mayar, spokesman of the Afghan Ministry of Public Health, tweeted. (Afghanistan-Attack)

NEW DELHI -- The death toll in Tuesday's under-construction building collapse in India's southern state of Karnataka rose to 10, with at least 15 people still feared trapped under the rubble, a senior government official told Xinhua on Thursday.

The under-construction building collapsed in Kumareshwar Nagar of the state's Dharwad district on Tuesday.

Speaking to Xinhua over phone, Dharwad Additional District Magistrate Suresh Itnal said three dead bodies were recovered on Thursday afternoon, taking the total death toll to 10. (India-Building collapse-Toll)

SUVA -- The two-way trade between Fiji and New Zealand has increased in recent years and this upward trajectory will continue in the coming years, a Fijian government minister said on Thursday.

Speaking at an event to mark the first anniversary of the opening of the Fiji Trade Commission in Auckland, a city in New Zealand, Fiji's Minister for Industry, Trade and Tourism Premila Kumar said that the two-way trade between Fiji and New Zealand in 2017 recorded over 992.2 million Fijian dollars (about 466.7 million U.S. dollars).
