FRANKFURT, March 21 (Xinhua) -- German stocks edged down on Thursday, with the benchmark DAX index down 53.93 points, or 0.46 percent, to close at 11,549.96 points.
Global internet technology and financial services provider Wirecard lost 5.60 percent, the top loser among the blue chips, followed by Deutsche Bank and marketplace organizer for the trading of shares and securities Deutsche Boerse group, which lost 4.10 percent and 2.97 percent respectively.
Energy group RWE gained 3.50 percent, becoming the top gainer. Material manufacturer Covestro and personal-care company Beiersdorf advanced 1.58 percent and 1.33 percent respectively.
Multinational chemical and pharmaceutical company Bayer was the most traded share with a turnover of 326.4 million euros (371.6 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
