PARIS -- Chinese President Xi Jinping's upcoming state visits to France and Monaco will further promote China's relations with the two countries, Chinese Ambassador to France Zhai Jun has said.

In a world with rising uncertainties due to unilateralism, protectionism and other challenges, China and France, as well as Europe as a whole, are unwaveringly committed to safeguarding the multilateral international governance system and the open and liberal international economic order, and serving as key stabilizing factors in the world, Zhai said.

Both China and Europe, he said, seek to push forward economic globalization in a more open, inclusive and balanced manner that features win-win cooperation and benefits all.

ROME -- Chinese President Xi Jinping on Friday urged personages of business and cultural circles in China and Italy to contribute more wisdom and strength to the cooperation between the two countries.

Xi made the remarks when speaking to representatives attending the meetings of the China-Italy Entrepreneur Committee, China-Italy Third Party Market Cooperation Forum and China-Italy Cultural Cooperation Mechanism, which are being held in parallel in Rome.

HAVANA -- The third edition of the St. Petersburg-Havana regatta is a sign of the will and desire of the U.S. and Cuban people to reverse the current setback in ties, said organizers of the event on Friday.

In a press conference at Havana's Ernest Hemingway Nautical Club, Jose Miguel Diaz, commodore of Cuba's Hemingway Marina, said despite harsh weather in the last few days, the event took place because of the desire to make bilateral relations better.

"We currently live a political climate of tension and the message of yacht and sea lovers from the United States and Cuba is that we want to continue being friends," said Diaz.

MONACO -- Prince Albert II of Monaco said he looks forward to hosting Chinese President Xi Jinping for a state visit and believes in the future development of bilateral relations.

"I hope this visit will enable the already very active and rich relationship to continue to develop healthily," the head of state of the principality told Xinhua in a recent interview ahead of Xi's upcoming state visit to his country, the first ever by a Chinese president.
