YANGON -- At least 16 people were killed and 48 others injured in a warehouse explosion in Myanmar's eastern Shan state, Nyi Rang, external relation officer of the United Wa State Army (UWSA) in Lashio, said on Sunday.

The explosion took place in Mongmao town in Wa Self-Administered Division, or "Special Region 2" of Shan state at around 5:00 p.m. local time Saturday. (Myanmar-Warehouse-Explosion)

NEW DELHI -- A massive fire has damaged two operating theaters in Delhi-based prestigious hospital - the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) on Sunday, an official said.

The fire is said to have started at an operating theater of the Trauma Centre at the hospital and spread to other areas. As many as six fire tenders reached the spot to douse the blaze, said local media reports. (India-Fire)

JAKARTA -- Indonesian President Joko Widodo inaugurated on Sunday operation of the country's first subway line, known as Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) in the capital city.
