UNITED NATIONS -- The UN humanitarian chief on Monday called on the international community to support the fight against Ebola in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), where the epidemic has claimed 621 lives.
"We don't think the world is paying enough attention to Ebola," UN Undersecretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs Mark Lowcock told reporters, making a 326-million-U.S. dollar appeal to fight the deadly disease. (UN-Ebola-DRC)

WASHINGTON -- U.S. State Department said on Monday that Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov held a phone conversation over the situation in Venezuela.

WASHINGTON -- The Pentagon announced Monday that it has authorized the transfer of 1 billion U.S. dollars for the construction of a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border.
