LUSAKA, March 26 (Xinhua) -- The following are news highlights in Zambia's major media outlets on Tuesday.

-- The Zambian government has expressed concern over increased levels of poaching in a national park in the southern part of the country.

Edify Hamukale, Minister of Southern Province, said between 15 to 20 highly-prized antelopes were being killed in Lochinvar National Park on a daily basis and that poaching was being perpetrated by senior government officials, reducing the animals to about 12,000 this year from 28,000 in 2017. -- The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has advised the Zambian government to formulate a finance statistics guide to support policy decisions.

The IMF said in a statement that the statistics guide would be a reference manual for data providers, compilers an users and that it would contribute to improve data constancy in the country. (Times of Zambia)

-- Hundreds of trucks are marooned on the Zambian side of a border entry into Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) after authorities in the neighboring country denied them entry.

Paul Mulenga, Chililabombwe District Commissioner confirmed that the trucks are marooned at Kasumbalesa border entry and the government has since urged the truck drivers to go back to their respective areas until the issue was addressed with the DRC counterparts. (Daily Nation)

-- Manager and promoter of Zambia's boxing female sensation Catherine Phiri says they will engage the World Boxing Council (WBC) following the manner in which her fight with Kenya's Fatuma Zarika for the Super Bantamweight title was handled.

Christopher Malunga said he was engaging some private judges and the WBC to investigate the fight which has raised eyebrows in both Kenya and Zambia over alleged biasing. (The Mast) Enditem
