-- Zimbabwe's economy is on a recovery path, with the target of becoming a middle income economy by 2030 set to be achieved, President Emmerson Mnangagwa has said.
The President said this in a speech read on his behalf by ZANU-PF Secretary for Finance Patrick Chinamasa at the inaugural India Diaspora Convention on Sunday.(The Herald)
-- A high-level Cyclone Idai reconstruction and resettlement taskforce has been put together to facilitate the effective resolution of challenges faced by the disaster management teams in the affected areas.
The taskforce is chaired by Chief Secretary in the Office of the President and Cabinet Misheck Sibanda.(The Herald)
-- President Emmerson Mnangagwa has, in an effort to pacify the ZANU-PF old guard stripped of their ministerial posts and deployed to less influential posts as full-time party employees, assured them they wielded immense influence over government programs.
