-- Zambian President Edgar Lungu has asked the church to pray against xenophobic attacks in South Africa so that sober mindedness can prevail among southern African leaders.
Lungu said the church pray for leaders to be able to find an amicable solution to the worrying situation in South Africa. (Zambia Daily Mail)
-- Zambian intends to come up with a law to prohibit the burning of litter as this worsens the garbage situation in the country.
Minister of Local Government and Housing Vincent Mwale said Zambia has a problem with garbage and waste disposal should be the option and not burning. (Times of Zambia)
-- Zambian Vice-President Inonge has called on more companies and cooperating partners to come on board and provide material and financial support towards the victims of cyclone Idai in Mozambique, Malawi and Zimbabwe.
The Zambian vice-president, in remarks after she received a donation of assorted medical supplies worth 403,403.93 U.S. dollars, said the breakdown in sanitary and water facilities has resulted in outbreak of epidemics such as cholera hence the need for more partners to show solidarity.
