JAKARTA, April 3 (Xinhua) -- An Airbus A330 passenger plane operated by Garuda Indonesia made an emergency landing at Sri Lanka's Bandaranaike International Airport due to lower cabin pressure, a spokesman of the airline Ikhsan Rosan said here on Wednesday.

The flight was en route to Jeddah of Saudi Arabia from Banda Aceh province of Indonesia when it made the emergency landing at the airport in Colombo, the spokesman said.

The aircraft landed safely at 09: 00 a. m. local time with 338 people on board, he said.

"For safety and comfort of the passengers, the pilot decided to land in Colombo and change the plane," Rosan said.

All the passengers and crew on board the flight landed unharmed.

The airline has sent technicians to check and make sure if the plane is eligible to resume flight. Enditem
