LONDON, April 3 (Xinhua) -- British stocks rose on Wednesday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index up by 0.37 percent, or 27.16 points, to close at 7,418.28 points.

Taylor Wimpey, a UK-based residential developer, soared 4.35 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Persimmon and International Consolidated Airlines Group both added 3.65 percent.

Imperial Brands, a British multinational tobacco company, was the worst performer in the blue chips, losing 4.13 percent. Coca-Cola HBC, a Coca-Cola anchor bottler, dropped 2.54 percent. Burberry Group, a British luxury fashion company, fell 2.03 percent. Enditem
