SINGAPORE, April 4 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed higher on Thursday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) going up 0.15 percent, or 4.94 points, to close at 3,316.21.
A total of 1.38 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 1.35 billion Singapore dollars (about 997.05 million U.S. dollars). Gainers outnumbered losers by 197 to 172.
The STI index went up 0.96 percent, or 31.49 points, to close at 3,311.27 Wednesday. Enditem
