LONDON, April 4 (Xinhua) -- British stocks decreased on Thursday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index down by 0.22 percent, or 16.34 points, to close at 7,401.94 points.
Direct Line Insurance Group, a UK-based personal and small business general insurer, was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 7.56 percent. Micro Focus International, a multinational software and information technology business, dropped 5.95 percent. Lloyds Banking Group, a major British financial institution, fell 3.48 percent.
Schroders, a British multinational asset management company, soared 2.87 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Ashtead Group and NMC Health increased by 2.03 percent and 1.99 percent, respectively. Enditem
