DAMASCUS -- At least four people were killed and 14 others wounded on Sunday by the shelling of rebels on the city of Masyaf in central Syria, state news agency SANA reported.

The shelling came from the rebels in the countryside of the Hama and Idlib provinces and targeted residential areas in Masyaf in the western countryside of Hama province in central Syria. (Syria-Rebel-Shelling)

ASSADABAD, Afghanistan -- At least five militants affiliated with Islamic State (IS) group have been killed after the security forces' fighting aircraft pounded the militants' hideout in Chapa Dara district of the eastern Kunar province, said an army statement released here Sunday.

The crackdown, according to the statement, launched against IS insurgents in Degal volley of Chapa Dara district on Saturday and would last until the area is cleansed of the insurgents. (Afghanistan-Militants-IS)

HO CHI MINH CITY -- A truck and a seven-seater car made a head-on collision on Sunday in Vietnam's southern Dong Nai province, killing three people and injuring two others, local media reported.

The accident on national road 20 in Dinh Quan district killed three passengers of the car, including two women aged 52 and 69, both from central Thanh Hoa province, and a 30-year-old woman from Dong Nai, Vietnam News Agency reported. TRIPOLI -- A doctor was killed and another was injured in clashes in Libyan capital between the UN-backed government and the eastern-based military forces, which is trying to take over the city.

"As a result of violent clashes in southern Tripoli, a doctor treating victims in Wadi al-Rabee area (southern Tripoli) was killed, while another civilian was injured," Osama Ali, spokesman of the Heath Ministry's Emergency Department, told Xinhua. (Libya-Clash-Doctor) Enditem
