LONDON, April 8 (Xinhua) -- British stocks rose on Monday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index up by 0.07 percent, or 5.02 points, to close at 7,451.89 points.
BP, a British multinational oil and gas company, soared 1.69 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Royal Dutch Shell A and Rio Tinto increased by 1.19 percent and 1.15 percent, respectively.
