AMMAN, April 8 (Xinhua) -- Jordan said on Monday that Syria has made the decision to release eight Jordanian prisoners jailed in Syria.
The information was confirmed in an official memorandum from the Syrian embassy in Amman.
Sufian Qudah, spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said the eight were out of 30 Jordanians arrested by Syrian authorities since the reopening of the border crossing between the two sides in October 2018.
The Jordanian official voiced appreciation for Syria's decision, adding that it will continue its efforts to secure the release of the remaining prisoners.
Jordan on Thursday demanded Syria to release all Jordanian prisoners and detainees and to observe the relevant international laws. Enditem
