Ugandan President Museveni to open Zimbabwe's premier trade showcase

HARARE, April 9 (Xinhua) -- Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni will officially open the 60th edition of the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) in Zimbabwe's second city of Bulawayo on April 26, State media reported Tuesday.

The Herald newspaper quoted ZITF chairperson Ruth Ncube confirming the long time president's acceptance to open the trade fair, which will run under the theme: "Propagating Industrial Growth through Trade and Investment" from from April 23 to 27.

Ncube said Germany and Belarus had also confirmed their participation at the fair, increasing the number of participating foreign nations to 14 so far.

Countries that have already confirmed participation include Botswana, Ethiopia, Japan, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, South Africa, United Arab Emirates, United States of America and Zambia.

Major highlights include the ZITF International Business Conference to be held on April 24 and the Confederation of Zimbabwe Industries (CZI)/ ZITF original equipment manufacturers forum on April 25. Enditem
