Tourism minister calls upon Arab countries to lift travel ban on Lebanon

BEIRUT, April 9 (Xinhua) -- Lebanon's Tourism Minister Avedis Guidanian called upon all Arab countries on Tuesday to remove their travel ban on Lebanon, the National News Agency reported.
"The security situation has improved remarkably," he said, noting the United Kingdom has allowed its citizens to visit several Lebanese areas while France is studying this issue seriously.
Guidanian said at an economic conference in Beirut that Lebanon's hotels are fully reserved for the coming spring season.
In November 2017, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Kuwait warned their citizens against traveling to Lebanon amid a Lebanese-Saudi crisis sparked by Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri's controversial resignation announcement in Riyadh which he rescinded soon after.
Saudi Arabia lifted the travel warning against Lebanon less than two months ago given improved security in the country.
Guidanian added that if the tourism sector continues its excellent performance throughout the year, tourism revenues will reach 8 billion U.S. dollars as it was in 2010. Enditem
