QUITO -- Ecuador on Thursday announced it revoked the citizenship status given to WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange in December 2017, citing "irregularities" in the naturalization process.

BAGHDAD -- Twelve Islamic State (IS) militants were killed Thursday when Iraqi security forces launched an operation in the Himreen mountain range that stretches in Iraq's central provinces of Salahudin and Diyala.

The operation was carried out during the day by the Counter-Terrorism Service (CTS), as the troops started clearing a number of villages while conducting an airdrop operation on the nearby mountains, the CTS said in a statement. (Iraq-IS Militants-Operation)

JERUSALEM -- Official results of Israel's elections were published on Thursday night, showing Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's party has beaten the main rival, the Blue and White party.

KHARTOUM -- Sudan's Defense Minister Awad Mohamed Ahmed Ibn Auf on Thursday was sworn in as head of the transitional council in Sudan, official Sudan TV reported.
