LOS ANGELES -- NASA's Curiosity rover has for the first time drilled a rock in the long-awaited "clay-bearing unit" on Mars, according to a NASA release on Thursday.

WASHINGTON -- U.S. President Donald Trump has nominated Admiral Bill Moran to be the next chief of naval operations, the Pentagon said Thursday.

WASHINGTON -- U.S. prosecutors said Gregory Craig, former Obama administration White House counsel, has been indicted on charges of making false statements and concealing information about foreign lobbying from the Department of Justice (DOJ).
