ISLAMABAD -- At least one child was killed and eight others were injured Friday evening in a blast in Chaman city of Pakistan's southwest Balochistan province, an official said.

Deputy Commissioner of Chaman Shafqat Anwar Shahwani told media that the blast took place at the busy market area located at the Mall Road in Chaman, the country's southwest city bordering Afghanistan. (Pakistan-Blast)

JAKARTA -- A strong quake of revised 6.8 magnitude on the Richter scale rocked off Indonesia's Central Sulawesi province on Friday evening while a tsunami warning was lifted as giant waves did not appear, an official of the meteorology and geophysics agency said.

KHARTOUM -- Sudan's transitional military council said on Friday that it will not hand President Omar al-Bashir over to the International Criminal Court (ICC) for trial.

MANILA -- Twelve Abu Sayyaf militants have been killed and 24 others have been wounded, including five soldiers, in four separate clashes in the southern Philippine Sulu province, the military said on Friday.

The Philippine military said the clash erupted at 10:37 a.m. local time on Thursday when the government security forces engaged about 120 Abu Sayyaf militants led by Abu Sayyaf leader Radulan Sahirun and sub-leader Hatib Hajan Sawadjaan in a remote village in Patikul town, Sulu province.
