LONDON, April 12 (Xinhua) -- British stocks rose on Friday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index up by 0.26 percent, or 19.11 points, to close at 7,437.06 points.
Standard Chartered, a British multinational banking and financial services company, soared 3.51 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. DS Smith and Glencore increased by 3.28 percent and 3.02 percent, respectively.
RELX, a British multinational information and analytics company, was the worst performer among the blue chips, with its shares losing 1.59 percent. Halma, a group of technology companies that makes products for hazard detection and life protection, dropped 1.55 percent.
