CHICAGO, April 12 (Xinhua) -- Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) agricultural futures settled mostly higher in a dull Friday session, with wheat extending gains following a two-day blizzard hitting the U.S. upper Midwest.
The most active corn contract for May delivery was up 0.75 cents, or 0.2 percent to 3.695 U.S. dollars per bushel. May wheat was up 4 cents, or 0.87 percent to 4.645 dollars per bushel. May soybeans were unchanged at 8.9525 dollars per bushel.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture on Thursday released its weekly export sales report for the period between March 29 and April 4. Corn, soybeans and wheat all saw unsatisfactory export sales, compared with their previous four-week average respectively.
But CBOT wheat futures received some support from snow storms hitting parts of wheat growing U.S. plains this week, which triggered concerns about possible crop damage.
Unfavorable weather conditions, including March floods that affected large areas in the Midwest, have already led to delay of corn and soybean plantings. Enditem
