Brunei warship sets sail for deployment to China, S.korea, Singapore

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, April 13 (Xinhua) -- Brunei's warship KDB Daruttaqwa has set sail for deployment to Qingdao in China, Busan in South Korea and Changi in Singapore.

According to Brunei's Defense Ministry, this deployment comprises KDB Daruttaqwa's participation in various events and exercises including multinational naval activities of the 70th founding anniversary of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Navy, ASEAN Defence Ministers Meeting Plus Expert Working Group on Maritime Security Field Training Exercise 1 & 2 (ADMM-Plus EWG on MS FTX 1 & 2) and International Maritime Defence Exhibition (IMDEX) Asia 2019.

The ministry said that this deployment marks a significant milestone in establishing Royal Brunei Navy as a reliable maritime partner in the region on both bilateral and multilateral platforms.

The Brunei warship, which set sail on Friday, is scheduled to return to Muara Naval Base on May 20. Enditem
