TOKYO, April 15 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks advanced Monday morning as investor sentiment was brightened by hopes for the outlook of the global economy following solid economic data from China and upbeat U.S. corporate earnings.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average gained 320.15 points, or 1.46 percent, from Friday to 22,190.71.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, added 23.66 points, or 1.47 percent, at 1,629.06.
All industry categories advanced into positive territory, with mining, insurance and marine transportation-linked issues comprising notable advancers by the morning break. Enditem
