-- The Zambian government has threatened to cut funding to some city and municipal authorities because some of them have the capacity to raise their own funds.
Ministry of Local Government Permanent Secretary Amos Malupenga said the government is contemplating weaning some city and municipal authorities from monthly support so that the support could be channeled to smaller councils. (Times of Zambia)
-- Authorities in Zambia intend to engage their Zimbabwean counterparts to resolve a dispute over fishing on shared waters following rampant arrests of Zambian fishermen.
Ministry of Home Affairs Permanent Secretary Chileshe Mulenga said a structure has been established by the two countries to resolve the problem of fishermen being arrested for straying on the Zimbabwe side of the Kariba Dam. (Daily Nation)
