MEXICO CITY -- Mexican authorities said on Monday they have discovered the bodies of 15 people in mass graves at a ranch near Guadalajara in the west of the country.

HERAT, Afghanistan -- At least five people were killed and 17 others went missing after heavy rains and floods hit Afghanistan's western province of Herat, a local official said Tuesday.

KABUL -- At least six Taliban militants were killed and nine others arrested after Afghan army commandos targeted a Taliban hideout in northern Kunduz province on Monday, Afghan Ministry of Defense said Tuesday.

"Personnel of Afghan National Army Special Operations Corps conducted the raid in Kakar village on outskirts of provincial capital Kunduz city. They received hostile fire.
