Thai Queen Sirikit hospitalized due to cystitis

BANGKOK, April 17 (Xinhua) -- Thailand's Bureau of Royal Household announced on Wednesday that Queen Sirikit has been admitted to Chulalongkorn Hospital in Bangkok due to cystitis.

According to the bureau's announcement, the queen had a fever because of cystitis, or infection of the bladder, and thus advised by doctors to enter the hospital late on Tuesday.

The 86-year-old Queen Sirikit is the mother to the current King Maha Vajiralongkorn. Enditem
