Israel's defense exports decline to 7.5 bln USD in 2018: ministry

JERUSALEM, April 17 (Xinhua) -- Israel's defense exports totalled 7.5 billion U.S. dollars in 2018, a decrease of 1.7 billion dollars from 2017, the defense ministry said Wednesday.

According to a ministry statement, missile and defense systems deals account for 24 percent of the defense exports in 2018, or 1.8 billion dollars, down 37 percent from 2017.

Next on the list are unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and military drones, radar and electronic warfare (EW) systems, manned aircraft and avionics, land, ammunition and weapon stations, observation and optronic systems, intelligence systems, information systems and cyber products.

The list also includes telecommunication, marine and space systems.

About 46 percent of Israel's defense exports in 2018 went to Asian and Pacific countries, followed by European countries (26 percent), North America (20 percent), Latin America (six percent) and Africa (two percent). Enditem
