CHICAGO, April 17 (Xinhua) -- Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) wheat futures traded higher on Wednesday morning, as traders' technical buying boosted wheat market after big loss in the previous session.

As of 1530 GMT, the most active May soybeans were down 7.5 cents at 8.805 dollars per bushel. May wheat was up 2.75 cents at 4.4775 dollars per bushel. July corn was down 1.5 cents at 3.6625 dollars per bushel.

Wheat futures firmed in a short-covering bounce a day after the CBOT May contract dipped to a one-month low. Rallies were capped by strong U.S. crop condition ratings and improving global production prospects.

Soybeans edged down as traders are awaiting fresh news of trade talks between the United States and China.

Corn futures declined on technical selling and fundamental pressure from ample U.S. and global stockpiles.

As for weather forecast for agricultural crop, strong storms are possible in parts of the U.S. Southern Plains starting Wednesday that includes hail and high-wind speeds, according to the National Weather Service. Enditem
