Senior Chinese official visits Czech Republic

PRAGUE, April 17 (Xinhua) -- Ma Biao, vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, visited Czech Republic from Saturday to Tuesday at the invitation of the Czech Chamber of Deputies.

Ma, who is also the president of the Chinese People's Association for Peace and Disarmament, met with Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies Radek Vondracek, Vice Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies and Chairman of the Group for Friendship with China Vojtech Filip, Vice President of Communist Party of Bohemia and Moravia Petr Simunek, and Governor of the South Bohemian Region Ivana Straska.

The two sides held in-depth exchanges of views on the bilateral relations, parliamentary and people-to-people exchanges, and joint construction of the Belt and Road, among other issues.

The Chinese delegation also had conversations with the representatives from the Czech Academy of Sciences, Charles University and Czech Institute of International Relations, among other organizations. Enditem
