SEOUL -- South Korean President Moon Jae-in has received U.S. President Donald Trump's message to Kim Jong Un, top leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), a well-informed diplomatic source said Friday.

Moon received the message from Trump, who called for the South Korean president to convey it to the DPRK leader, during their summit meeting in Washington last week, said the source who declined to be identified because of sensitivity of the matter. (S.Korea-U.S.-Message)

PHNOM PENH -- China-proposed Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) aligns well with the Cambodian government's Rectangular Strategy Phase IV, a Cambodian commerce official has said.

BRI, a reference to the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road, was initiated by China in 2013 with the aim of building a trade, investment, and infrastructure network connecting Asia with Europe and Africa along the ancient trade routes. (Cambodia-China-BRI)

TOKYO -- Two people were feared dead and eight others injured Friday after a car plowed into them at a busy intersection in Tokyo, local police said.

The vehicle, driven by a man in his 80s, struck the pedestrians at a crosswalk and then hit a garbage truck in the busy Ikebukuro district of Tokyo, the Metropolitan Police Department said. (Japan-Car crash)

ISLAMABAD -- At least eight people were killed and 44 others injured when a passenger coach overturned in Pakistan's southern Sindh province on Friday morning, local Urdu TV channels reported.
