Albanian police find two missing tourists

TIRANA, April 19 (Xinhua) -- Two missing tourists from Belgium were found in southern Albania after search, police announced in a press release on Friday.

The tourists were declared missing on Thursday evening in a remote mountainous area in Himara region in southern Albania.

Police sources said that the Belgian couple called the police operation office in Vlora on Thursday afternoon, saying they got lost on the way.

More than 15 police officers and local people were engaged in the searches for around 20 hours.

The two tourists were found between the villages of Iljaz and Vranisht. They said they were hiking when they found out they got lost in the difficult terrain.

The two tourists are reported to be in good health conditions. Enditem
